what a shame that there is no mentioning that this song belong to Blind Willie Jefferson in the 20's. Check out the older recordings. Real shame to hear that in the beginning of the show.

She is taking about Perkins, so correctly it is HIS song.

Of course. But she says "Elvis recorded HIS song, Blue Suede shoes" which, while the cover is Elvis's, the actual song Blue Suede Shoes belongs to good ol' Perkins

There is a difference between "recorded" and "written". The announcer got it right. A lot of rock artists of the 50s recorded Blue Suede Shoes.

I love how the announcer says that Elvis recorded Blue Suede Shoes and Cash recorded Daddy Sang Bass. Dont get me wrong, I Love Cash and Elvis and Perkins, but both Blue Suede Shoes and Daddy Sang Bass were written by Carl Perkins!

Ah yes-a true legend and one of the nicest guys you could hope to meet. Saw him many times and he always made it look so easy. Not only a great picker but wrote several classics and could rock with the best of them . Nobody left that could touch him.
