Can anyone tell me anything about the MacGregor clan? My mother is Scots-Irish, and I know that's the clan I'm descended from. I've done my own research on google, but other than that...I'd really like to learn about my heritage and pass it down to my children. If anyone has any information please let me know...

Jedynie trochę go uwspółcześnili (aranże, instrumentarium itp.) i to niesamowicie chwyciło. Chwała za to Karen Matheson i jej kolegom!

Alasdair Mac Colla (c. 1610–1647) was a Scottish soldier. His full name in Scottish Gaelic was Alasdair Mac Colla Chiotaich Mac Domhnuill (English: Alasdair the son of Colla the Left-handed MacDonald). He is sometimes mistakenly referred to in English as "Collkitto",[1] a nickname that properly belongs to his father. He fought in the Wars of the Three Kingdoms, most notably in Scotland, where he became a knight. He died at the Battle of Knocknanauss in 1647. Source Wikipedia cheers

Probably one of the first Capercaillie songs I heard. It was on the Grampian Television documentary series The Blood is Strong and I've been hooked on Capercaillie ever since

da 1:02 in poi cè il pezzo campionato per Ritmo di Carolina Marquez ... fa sempre un certo effetto sapere che i tuoi ricordi legati a un pezzo sono anche i ricordi di altri prima di noi sull'originale

Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, France, Belgium and some other countries are, or better said, were Celtic countries. Therefor when one says "Celtic song" it could easily be a song from Scotland but it is also a Celtic song nonetheless.

Surely as a song sung in Gaelic, a Celtic language, it could also be referred to, at least in part, as "Celtic".

There are plenty of people keeping a Celtic culture alive in Brittany still too, including some good musicians.

In fairness, Scotland did contain a lot of Celtic culture :-)

Why weird? Many Indo-European people lived in Turkey (or should be referred to as Thrace and Anatolia) thousands of years ago. There lived the Ionians, Phyrgians, Lydian, Trojans etc. All these people are so close to European history. Ancestors of the Celts must be the ancestors of these people as well.
