Camper Van Beethoven

(I Was Born In A) Laundromat

(Key Lime Pie, 1989)

Down here on the north side

[ ? ]

Down here on the river [ ? ]

I got sand in my shoes

It's hotter than asphalt

It's hotter than pistols

I'm as bent as a crowbar

We all want some release

Just like the queen of the trailer park

Sometimes she's the queen of the water, of the river

Down here on the tracks

We're the kings of the trash

I was born in a laundromat

I was born in a cul-de-sac

Some of us are brown

And some of us are white

Just give me some tension release

Just give me some tension release

Just like the queen of the trailer park

Sometimes she's the queen of the water, of the river

Down here on the tracks

We're the kings of the trash

She's the queen of the primo

She's the queen of the bondo

And I was born in a laundromat

I was born in a cul-de-sac

Just give me some tension release

Just give me some tension release

Just like the queen of the trailer park

Sometimes she's the queen of the water, of the river

Am I crazy or is there an alternative mix of this song accompanied by a video, where there is a running joke about not letting Morgan Fichter play her violin, and where the band shouts "Hey! Hey! Hey!" or something throughout the chorus "Just like the queen of the trailer park"???

An underappreciated alternative band, CVB was the precurser to Cracker.

thanks, dude...I live in Mexico and nobody has heard of anything, let alone Camper Van....I used to see Camper back in Santa Cruz back in the day, I have always loved them and Cracker...it is fine where I live, but many years have passed and some times I miss my pals, miss playing music with them...un abrazo

David Lowry=great American artist, he really came to the forfront on this CD, have loved it since day one....fantastic production, great drum and guitar sound....I miss my friends who are sort of like Lowry, my kind of guy...but I am far away in a land where I am the freak, I am surrounded by cud chewers, nose pickers and garbage throwers...and narcos and palms and sand

Camper Van Beethoven, Monks of Doom, Cracker, this dude's resumé speaks for itself. Genius. Period. End of story. Cheers! FrankC32

The guitar is very much like a sped-up version of the title track to the film 'Moon' from a few years ago.
