Calling Out Your Name

Well the moon moved past Nebraska

And spilled laughter on them cold Dakota Hills

And angels danced on Jacob's stairs

Yeah they danced on Jacob's stairs

There is this silence in the Badlands

And over Kansas the whole universe was stilled

By the whisper of a prayer

The whisper of a prayer

And the single hawk bursts into flight

And in the east the whole horizon is in flames

Chorus:

I feel thunder in the sky

I see the sky about to rain

And I hear the prairies calling out Your name

I can feel the earth tremble

Beneath the rumbling of the buffalo hooves

And the fury in the pheasant's wings

And there's fury in a pheasant's wings

It tells me the Lord is in His temple

And there is still a faith that can make the mountains move

And a love that can make the heavens ring

And I've seen love make heaven ring

Where the sacred rivers meet

Beneath the shadow of the Keeper of the plains

Repeat chorus

From the place where morning gathers

You can look sometimes forever 'til you see

What time may never know

What time may never know

How the Lord takes by its corners this old world

And shakes us forward and shakes us free

To run wild with the hope

To run wild with the hope

The hope that this thirst will not last long

That it will soon drown in the song not sung in vain

Repeat Chorus

And I know this thirst will not last long

That it will soon drown in the song not sung in vain

I feel thunder in the sky

I see the sky about to rain

And with the prairies I am calling out Your name

Adını Anıyorlar

İşte Ay geride bıraktı Nebraska'yı

Bıraktı onların üzerine kahkahaları Dakota Tepeleri'nde

Ve melekler raks etti Yakup'un merdivenleri'nde

Evet raks ettiler Yakup'un merdivenleri'nde

Sessizlik var Badlands'de

Ve Kansas üzerinden bütün kainat duruldu

Bir niyaz edenin fısıldamasıyla

Fısıldaması bir niyaz edenin

Ve yalnız Şahin birden uçuşa geçer

Ve Doğu'da bütün ufuk alevler içinde

Koro:

Hissediyorum fırtınayı gökyüzündeki

Görüyorum yağmur başlamak üzere

Ve duyuyorum çayırlıklar adını anıyor

Hissedebiliyorum yeryüzünün titrediğini

Bufalo toynaklarının altında

Ve hiddeti sülünün kanatlarında

Ve mevcut bu hiddet sülünün kanatlarında

Bana söylüyor Tanrı mabedinde diye

Ve hala inanç var dağları yerinden oynatan

Ve bir aşk cenneti çevreleyen

Ve bir aşk gördüm cenneti çevreleyen

Kutsal nehirlerin buluştuğu yerde

Düzlüklerin koruyucusunun gölgesinin altında

Nakarat koro

Seherin söktüğü yerden

Sonsuza kadar bakabilirsin ta ki görene kadar

Ne zaman bilinemez

Ne zaman bilinemez

Nasıl tutar Tanrı bu yaşlı dünyanın köşelerini

Ve bizi ileri götürür, bizi özgür kılar

Umutla vahşileşmek için

Umutla vahşileşmek için

Umut bu susuzluğun uzun sürmeyeceğine dair

Ki yakında boğulacak şarkıda, kibirli ninnide değil

Nakarat Koro

Ve biliyorum bu susuzluğun uzun sürmeyeceğini

Ki yakında boğulacak şarkıda

kibirli ninnide değil

Hissediyorum fırtınayı gökyüzünde

Görüyorum hava yağmak üzere

Ve çayırlıklarla birlikte ben anıyorum adını

This song satisfies something in my soul. I grew up in Kansas and will forever be in love with the majestic plains and beautiful skies. When you gaze out at the wide open expanses you can't help but be filled with inexplicable hope and wonder. "I hear the prairies calling out Your name."

RYAN M. McBEANs STUFF & THANGS ALONG THE PILGRIMs JOURNEY TO RAGAMUFFIN OBSCURITY: Okay, I'm sure your getting tired of my contemporary Christian artist rant. But this is such an absolutely gorgeous song by Rich Mullins. "Calling Out Your Name!" is one of Rich’s best songs, where he talks about his hope that “this thirst will not last long.” There’s a lot of imagery here, & you’ll need to listen to the entire song to get a full appreciation. But you can sense from the thunder & the impending rain that he is staying awake, anticipating the hour when his thirst for the Christ will be quenched. All creation groans along with him for the Sons of God to be revealed, all creation calls out for the name of Jesus. How long, oh Lord?! How long must we wait?! How long?!

I lived in Oklahoma for years and I've driven through Kansas and Nebraska when the flowers bloom. I've seen the thunder rumble over the big sky. I love this song. I call it the American Psalm.

Stefano, they did not have all of those things you are talking about 2,000 years ago. However, Jesus did give specific instructions that if you look at what he is saying, can relate to many of our issues today.
