I've put both versions together on this one. 10/21/31 - 12/18/33 - Cab Calloway and his Orchestra 1931-1932 Classics 526-544. (Arlen-Koehler) This song features Minnie the Moocher and Smoky Joe; the title refers to their opium habit. A beautiful, eerie song. Cabell "Cab" Calloway III (December 25, 1907 -- November 18, 1994) was an American jazz singer and bandleader.

I like the 1931 version best, but it's good to hear the 1933. I'll be singing it in a couple of months, a revival of a performance I did in the 1980's.Dave
