This is the kind of music my ears and heart loves and enjoys listening to. If I was there in person, I'll be standing up on a chair clapping so loud and hard to wake up those people they sound like dead beat clappers. God Bless you B&C group, love u guys. Brooklyn, NY

Amazing band and amazing song! I just recorded my own version of The Other Country and uploaded to YouTube. Check it out!

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that they were ever doing something that they were pressured to by others, or that was "out of character". I was just illustrating how they seemed to have more "straightforward" songs in the old days. This was neither a criticism of their old stuff nor their current stuff. I agree that "Build a Wall" has some obvious Biblical overtones, as do a few of their other new ones, but the song overall remains a mystery to me. I kind of like it that way, actually.

Nothing about "Basic Instructions" is any different from what they do now (what you described). It was merely something they felt strongly about and wanted to write, record, and perform. Just cuz it IS overt doesn't mean it's against their will or out of character, or "old ways" as you imply. "Build a Wall" is pretty overtly "name dropping" when it calls to mind Nehemiah.

excellent stuff! Glad to see they are still makin' music. Have always loved their stuff...a cool sound that shines Jesus through in a beautiful & unique way. Not your typical Christian music. Though I have listened to a lot of Christian music in the past 22 years... . theirs is a unique & beautiful sound. I still love their old stuff too.

yes, they are definitely a Christian band "technically". Absoloutely! They definitely have a latin kinda sound which I love, But you should definitely check out their older stuff! I think they have become a little more "nebulous" in their latest stuff. I prefer their older work.

Its great to see a band that sounds good live. I appreciated studio musicianship. You can be more detailed and intricate there. But I am tired of seeing bands that sound quite good in the studio, but when they play live, they sound like they are banging on guitars and screaming into the mike.

@kenronjon It's more in the vein of "Christians in a band". They don't write about it in obvious, cut-and-paste from the Bible phrasing, but try to express whatever they're feeling in their own words and just make something beautiful that honors the Creator without having to resort to cheap name-drops just prove to a judgmental audience that it's "Christian music". I love "Basic Instructions", don't get me wrong, but it's been 13 years and the group has evolved.

Bought the album. I thought "Anybody Out There" was vaguely Christian but this is even more nebulous...enjoy the tunes but does not focus me on God. Are these guys technically a Christian group?
