I will let every one into a secret! It is treasures like these that have been straitjacketed by the political elites weapon of choice for social reform Political Correction and much has been destroyed by it.

Am I nuts, or does is the Beethoven Oboe trio variations on this exact theme?

This is an old ENGLISH folk song - though there have been several versions. It's certainly bawdy enough (well, full of inuendo). Certainly wouldn't have been arrested in England for singing it!

Sung in the BBC series "Peice of Cake" at a WW2 RAF wedding in France where this song was to let everyone know that the father of one pilots (unborn) child was not the man she was wed to (Then it was straffed by the Germans so most of the guests were killed, which then meant nobody worried about the bride/groom etc.)

The lyrics final part: Again I am a bachelor and I live with my son We work at the weaver's trade And every single time that I look into his eyes He reminds me of the fair young maid He reminds me of the winter time Part of the summer too And the many, many times I held her in my arms To keep her from the foggy, foggy dew

The lyrics second part: One night she knelt down by my side When I was fast asleep She threw her arms around my neck And then began to weep She wept, she cried, she tore her hair Ah me, what could I do So all night long I held her in my arms To keep her from the foggy, foggy dew

The lyrics first part : When I was a bachelor I lived all alone I worked at the weaver's trade And the only, only thing I did that was wrong Was to woo a fair young maid I wooed her in the winter time some of the summer too And the only, only thing I did that was wrong Was to keep her from the foggy, foggy dew
