There are some absolutely beautiful moments in this song. In fact, every call & response between Richie's vocals and either guitar or piano is stunning. How in god's green earth could they take the best of a country ballad and combine it with folk into a soft rock classic? It's really such a simple song, but that is true of the best art. Simple, subtle, heartful.
