This pretty much is a preview of what was coming with Poco a year later. In fact, this was after Jim Messina joined the Springfield on bass and playing dobro on this track was Rusty Young and those two would join Richie in the formation of Poco a year later.

Wow! Thanks for posting all these! I was totally thrilled to find this whole album seperated out, song by song, and made a playlist (not looking up in the corner to see that you already did this). Nevertheless, It's still a grand find! Thanks! I't very appreciated!

One of the more beautiful songs of the 60s. I would reccmomend also Spirit's instrumental "Ice".

There are some absolutely beautiful moments in this song. In fact, every call & response between Richie's vocals and either guitar or piano is stunning. How in god's green earth could they take the best of a country ballad and combine it with folk into a soft rock classic? It's really such a simple song, but that is true of the best art. Simple, subtle, heartful.

I saw Buffalo Springfield at The Roller Rink in Hayward Calif. in 1967, but I didn't discoverer this song until I bought "Retrospective." a few years ago. What a beautiful sentiment and a beautiful song...
