Of course this is highly overdubbed. I believe the original was just BH on acoustic guitar. But, curiously, I like the overdubs.

I saw Buddy perform this song live on a Lubbock Television station in 1956. It is still the greatest concert I ever saw.

this is a good song but it is hard to tell what parts buddy is playing on guitar because norman petty overdubbed this song and many others that sound like crap compared to the undubbed versions

There's tons of songs from the early 60's that were recorded in the late 50's and weren't released until the early 60's. But to me the early 60's is still the 50's. it really didn't change until 1965, with hippies and British Invasion, and psychedellic rock. of course Beatles were '64 and up. Even songs recorded in the early 60's still sound 50's, like You're 16 you're beautiful and you're mine by Johnny Burnette (1960), and Runaround Sue by Dion and the Belmonts (1961), and the great Imposter (1962) and No particular place to go by Chuck Berry (1964) and lots more! from 1960-1964. or Watch American Graffiti! about the late 1950's early 1960's era.

1959/1963 please, there are professionals out there that can help you. Think about it, there was an invention called a Tape Recorder. That machine could capture you're voice and believe it or not, you could actually play it back at a future date. If you died someone else's could play that same tape back and hear the voice/guitar of the departed. I know to a caveman this sounds like the work of the devil but on the other hand it is not rocket science!

@BonnieGotClyde36 Yes, Buddy recorded this in 1956, but it wasn't released until 1963. That's "your" history lesson for the day ;-)
