It is haunting and so powerful how he includes "Thunder Road" in the chorus. The BTR album was about making your dreams come true, leaving it all behind, the losers and such and Thunder Road was certainly about that. BTR was his break out album, his first exposure to the bigger world yet after it, he couldn't record due to legal issues with Mike Appel. In those 3 years, he reportedly wrote over 100 songs, many of which were about "What happens when your dreams don't come true"...The Darkness album. So, the juxtaposition of using Thunder Road in a brokenhearted way....sends chills.

definitely the best version of this beautiful but underestimated song. to me one of his best songs ever. got my headphones on and listen to it over and over again at full volume. simply heart touching and brilliant. perfect instrumentation and perfectly sung by the boss. thanks so much for this. this song is my companion in the most fu**ed up moments.
