I love this song and I love this version. Though it confuses me, that the Boss has to read the complete lyrics from the teleprompter.Anyway...Bruce rules!

THE BEST VERSIONS ARE THE 1975 LIVE ACOUSTIC VERSIONS AND THE NO NUKES LIVE FROM 1979 WHEN BRUCE HAD GOTTEN OUT THE STUDIO DOING THE TIES THAT BIND/ RIVER SESSIONS THAT HAD TAKEN OVER A YEAR TO COMPLETE THE ALBUM!!

Terrence I agree, - but one version should not rule out any or all other versions.I'ts his song and we can only do what we are doing now, discuss and share our belives

I love this song but not this treatment. He may as well just recite it. I think Bruce errs in thinking he can strip this song down and make himself the focus. Thunder Road belongs to the E Street Band too, and I don't want this song without them.
