I brought this album when it came out, always wondered why this song wasnt released as a single instead of love and mercy, or maybe it was but didnt do to well, i dont know, album is great. The guitar section and the large orchestra drum beats in the verses in this song are very simliar to "anything you want, You got it - Roy orbison, which came out the same year in 1988. But i still love this song better than that as well

This production so beautifully and completely captures the grand Wilson/Spector pocket symphony vibe. Chills every time I listen to it. Rock on Brian and rock on Jeff! Two geniuses!

I hate Jeff Lynne's production so completely. Everyone he works with makes their cheesiest sounding records of their career. The first Wilbury's record should be one of the greatest. Instead their rehearsal bootlegs are a better listen. No one hire this schmuck ever please.

I wish that Jeff Lynne had produced this entire album. It would have been much better.

"And all my troubles disappeared" - This man knew what he was singing about, therefore the chorus really convinces me. Uplifting. ´Though this song is overdone, of course.

This is more 'strident' than the version on my CD. The harmonies are more out front and lush. Love this production and one part of the chorus gives me goosebumps. Wonderful song.

This is the only recorded example of Brian and Jeff Lynne working together...from Amazon: "For this 1988 Brian Wilson album, Jeff Lynne gave the song 'Let It Shine' to Brian Wilson in near complete form, with Wilson adding the chorus. Jeff Lynne also played on and produced 'Let It Shine'."
