Two things, besides this being an amazing song: 1) These guys were involved in a group by the name of McGuinness Flint. Look up the album "Happy Birthday Ruthie Baby" it is brilliant. 2) Art Garfunkel did this song on his album entitled "Break Away" it is also brilliant.

Oh the wonders of the internet. I just typed in 'it's just a phase you're going through' and 'ocean.' These were the only lyrics I recalled from this song which from time to time pops up in my head. I'm so glad I found it.

Not as well-known duo as Simon & Garfunkel but just as good.

Can a duo go solo? From Largs in Scotland. Yes they were in house writers for apple. They had 8 studio albums in the seventies of which this was their biggest. They had hits with Mcguinness Flint and Ronnie Lanes Slim Chance and wrote for and were covered by countless artists including Michael Jackson, Don Williams, Tina Turner and yes... Simon and Garfunkel

I had this album on tape- I played it in the car. I sold the car in 1986 and very stupidly left the tape in the player! Big mistake- but I did get the album on vinyl. Benny Gallagher played a solo concert near me recently bit I couldn't make it. Shame! I hope they can get together and make some more magical music. I was a big fan of "When I'm Dead and Gone"- bought the music and bashed it out in the piano!
