amazing vocal, amazing song, sung with pure unadulterated heart & soul. RIP -- if there's a Rn'R heaven you'll be in one helluva great band.

In answer to Gary Davis, the gentleman sitting down playing a great lead guitar, is Dean Parks, guitarist extrordinarre. He played lead on all of David Gates solo LP's.

Here's the deal: Jimmy Griffin's songs were really good, but David Gates' songs were flat-out amazing. The extra guitar player here is Dean Parks, who played on all of Gates' solo albums. By the way, I had NEVER seen Larry Knectel sing until I saw this clip!

James was every bit as good as David but never got the credit he deserved! Hard to believe David is the only one left.

The additional guitar player on the stool looks like Dan Dugmore, who played for years with Linda Ronstadt, as did Mike Botts, Bread's drummer.

There is a fifth guy - not really a member of Bread, but a sideman, discreetly sitting down and playing a terrific guitar lead. I have no idea who that is.

Great song, Its hard to believe I have lived my 39 years without never really understanding how great this bands music is until just recently. Thanks for posting this

I wish the egos of Gates and Griffin didn't interfere with the run the band had for about 7 years. I would have loved to see Bread take their music and adapt to the 80's if they could have made peace. Nevertheless, their time from 1970-77 was a list of great songs!

It's hard to argue with Bread's commercial success, and David Gates is just great. But it seems amazing that someone with the talent of Jimmy Griffin would settle for B-sides and album cuts for so long. His songs are invariably top notch. Of course, he didn't really have a lot of commercial success on his own as far as I know, so maybe the public didn't agree with me. This is a great clip.
