The Noldor were the most skilled ancient elves in Valinor. In their thirst for lore, they let Morgoth (Sauron's master) in their midst. He hated them, and stole their Simarils and left, sowing lies and distrust in his wake. The Noldor gave chase to Middle Earth, killing other elves in their attempt to secure ships, thereby becoming the first kinslayers and being banished forever. They became a cursed and unhappy race and were soon routed by Morgoth's forces. They did have a hand in the final defeat of Morgoth, however. The Great Eagles featured so heavily in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings lore were originally sent by the Valar to watch over the Noldor.Celebrimbor, who was tricked in to forging the Rings of Power by Sauron, was a descendent of the Noldor.Wonderful track by Blind Guardian.
