I've hear this song described as a "roller skate rink" song, perfect for that occasion.

Lover, Please is a better song than I Can Help but both are awesome songs!! Did you know Motor Mouth out of WOW 59 AM Omaha?

I love this song today as much as I did in 1974. They just don't make music like this anymore.

I once heard on Casey Kasem's radio show called "American Top 40" an interesting bit of trivia about this song when it came out in 1974. The reason you hear the applause at the end of the song is because Billy's dog was at his side when he was recording the tune and the dog was tugging on his pants but Billy was still able to complete the song without any interruption in his voice. Quite an accomplishment, indeed! GREAT guitar work on this song makes it a memorable tune from the 70's.

Awesome Mike! I heard a story that he wrote this song on the "rock 1" mode on one of those home organs? Anyway it's good to hear it again!
