Lyrics:

From a town known as Wheeling, West Virginia

Rode a boy with a six-gun in his hand

And his daring life of crime

Made him a legend in his time

East and west of the Rio Grande

Well, he started with a bank in Colorado

In the pocket of his vest, a Colt he hid

And his age and his size

Took the teller by surprise

And the word spread of Billy the Kid

Might not be his most emotionally deep song, but definitely one of his best musical and lyrical pieces.

As he is timeless very cool to see his microphone is the iconic Shure SM58. 50 years later is still the choice of artists who can afford anything...

harmonica and percussionist is Crystal Taliefero. Billy got to know her via John Mellencamp (she did a lot of vocals on JM's albums and she toured with him too, she's awesome and always enhances a song, never trying to take over) she plays sax too!

Amazing that he still "has it." What a great song, and well-performed. Thank you for sharing this bit of Memory Lane.
