Lyrics:

There's a place in the world for the angry young man

With his working class ties and his radical plans

He refuses to bend he refuses to crawl

And he's always at home with his back to the wall

And he's proud of his scars and the battles he's lost

And struggles and bleeds as he hangs on his cross

And likes to be known as the angry young man

Give a moment or two to the angry young man

With his foot in his mouth and his heart in his hand

He's been stabbed in the back he's been misunderstood

It's a comfort to know his intentions are good

And he sits in his room with a lock on the door

With his maps and his medals laid out on the floor

And he likes to be known as the angry young man

Had Enough

Funny how it started so painfully slow and little by little the tempo crept up...

Just recently found this song and fell in love with it. Always wondered how he did the prelude. Props. I play a little piano and just watching him do it makes my brain hurt.

Dave Rosenthal on the keys/organ patches... this guy went to school at Berklee in Boston and knows his stuff... playing most of the key parts to him has to be by now easy as anything. I emailed the guy once asking how he plays the synth break on 'sometimes a fantasy' and he got back to me really nicely :) So anyway props to him, as I think he's under-rated and given probably less attention than others in the band. Also Andy on bass... I'm not crazy about his tones/equipment but he's a solid player. Originally a metalhead from Aussie bands of some sort..

What is the little black box that Billy has on the left side of his piano with cords coming out of it? Awesome song by the way. Never gets old...

I love the song Angry Young Man because it reminds me of myself getting angry at others.

I honestly do not believe there is a more talented musician on the face of God's green earth than this man, Billy Joel ! Period. Exclamation point !

This song has been getting much play on the radio lately which has something to do with the tour but is none the less telling. The takeaway is to be silent accepting sheep in order to attain social viability. The sheople have been programmed to believe that they are worthless and have no power which has become a self fulfilling reality. They have also been trained by the media to viciously attack and ridicule anyone who would dare to speak out and ask reasonable rational questions that do not have good answers.

Just saw him at Wrigley field two days ago. How could he play "Uptown Girl" and not play this song? I'm astonished!!

The drummer is Chuck Burgi. Killer player but to me this will always be Liberty's gig. Chuck doesn't have that 5th gear that Liberty had.
