Its brilliant that Billie is having a break from Green Day, i saw them live last year and they always put on a great show! Billie wants a rest now and i am glad he has had a change around by doing this! Done a great job, shows he can do different types of stuff really.

I like a few Green Day songs like most guys my age (43). I was never a huge fan though, until I saw them perform John Lennon's "Working Class Hero" a few years back on an awards show. That got my attention of how improved they were as a band and that was the performance of the evening in my opinion. Fans of the Green Day of '93 will say they sold out and became pussies, just like many of us said of Metallica around the Black album or Load album. You cannot be 35 - 40 years old and still carry those same feelings you had when the writing/recording started on early songs. That is what change is all about as life brings change to your existence: families, addictions, loss of loved ones, etc. For a lot of bands and artists, their songwriting style is going to shift a little more each time every few albums. When I was a teenager I loved the song "Jailbait" by Motorhead more than anything else from Ace Of Spades. For a long time now, I don't even feel right listening to the song as I don't think it is cool anymore as it resonates strong pedophilia overtones. Still love Motorhead though! Norah Jones and Billy Joe Armstrong have done stellar work on these songs! Now if we could get Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell to do a Deep Purple covers album?
