Lyrics-

I had it all, or should I say I saw it all?

And it's a long way from the dustbin of New Jersey to the top

Who would have known?

Who would have known

I had a dream, but dreams had other plans for me

For 30 years I set the thermostat

Where Frank Sinatra liked it,

And hold his girl hands on his hats

I never knew which one were mine

Now he's gone, and I'm alone

And I don't know where I might be going

I heard the wind, the wind stopped blowing

Set me on the roadside from the house

But home, for me was always someone else you know

That shadows always fall, when the sun goes down

I shook the hands, mafia dons and presidents

And though they always smile politely

With the measure of the core

Still their eyes would stand me on me

For a glimpse of something more

But now he's gone,

Now they're gone

And I don't know where I might be going

I heard the wind, the wind stopped blowing

Set me on the roadside from the house

But home, for me was always someone else you know

That shadows always fall, when the sun goes down

Alone, is shadow of a star, don't you know

That shadows always fall, yeah shadows always fall,

When the sun goes down

And I don't know where I might be going

I heard the wind, the wind stopped blowing

Set me on the roadside from the house

But home, for me was always someone else to go.

Whoo! Those lyrics are maybe a bit off-target in spots, like all over. Funny thing about TSOTLOTM -- Ben declined to include lyrics, so I guess the lyrics are whatever you want them to be...

You monetize these videos just for posting up bff's music?

<3 this song... and I've noticed a lot of lyric sites have some pretty weird interpretations, so here are mine: "((Pulled?)) his girls, hung his hats" "I rode the wind, the wind stopped blowing Set me on the roadside thumbing home" "I shook the hands of mafia dons and presidents" "With a measure of decorum" "Alone... in the shadow of a star"

and it's Decorum not 'the core'.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds like the lyric is "But home... for me was always someone else..." Makes a lot more sense than "but how"

Does this song owe a debt to Boxing ? The imagined point of view of a guy who served Frank Sinatra after Boxing's imagined conversation between Muhammad Ali and Howard Cosell.
