@thegeneralsmuts You were just right to begin with. When you are expressing these terms in a purely text format it is always 'an ukulele'. Pronunciation does not alter the spelling of a word and as the 'a' is always followed by the vowel 'u(kulele)', the proper grammar is to use 'an'. You don't mess around with grammar just to suit people who can't/don't pronunciate words how they are actually spelt.

@ijustmaybe Now, it is within my understanding that the article "a" would have been properly paired with your chosen pronunciation of "ukulele", as "an" has been paired with my pronunciation of the word. Therefore both articles are deemed "correct" in the case that you have been so eloquent in pointing out. TROLOLOLOLKTHNXBAI

@ijustmaybe It would bring me great joy to receive such an award, however I wouldn't quite qualify as a recipient. Seeing as we're all being snotty nitpicking little twats now, you have forced me to have to elaborate. The word "ukulele" in fact has two commonly accepted pronunciations. One is the anglicised "YU-ke-lay-lee", while the other is the more traditional pronunciation "OO-ku-le-le". I believe I can safely conclude that you have chosen the former pronunciation and I the latter.

- 'I hate Soundclash because they didn't live up to my fantasy caricature of 'celebrities' imposed upon me by society.' - 'I love Soundclash they represent the epitamy of true music, I would pay to suck their nobs.' Guys, guys, they are human, go infatuate over a god or something...
