Like many people here, I prefer the original. For me personally, the key change threw me off, which is why I like the original betterl. Still, I can't deny how good this re-recording is, especially on the production side of things.

The Original was amazing. This, not so much in my opinion.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I prefer the original. However, the vocals and mix-down on this version is far and away better. Something about the lack of detail on the earlier version binds the track together in a different way.

The vocals are a lot clearer here and the production is obviously better, buttttt the key is different (it's what, a half step lower? It doesn't sound like much but it's noticeable) and the guitars blend together more if that makes sense - on the original I could clearly pick out two guitar lines (at least) but they blur on this one and certain bits of the melody don't pop out in the same way. It bugs me the most on my favourite riff that starts at 0:36 - the lower end notes don't stand out from each other. So I can't decide which I like better. It was always my favourite Arsis song. (btw you can tell I'm not super-educated about music so plz don't pull my comments apart, this is all just in my opinion)

I found this song in the spring of this year. Both the rerecording and the original.Heard the original, liked it, heard the re-recording, liked it, forgot about the song a little later, picked it up again, but I couldn't remember which I had listened to.When re-listening to the original recording, I was immediately put off by how low-fi and overdistorted it was, and I have listened to the re-recording ever since.

Vocals are a bit more "vicious", but they've lost the emotive edge that made this album so melancholic. Eh, I know the fact that I've had it for a decade makes me like the original more, but there are definitive reasons. I.E. organic, blended production vs the more sterile, channeled sound of the update. Again, the original fits the emotion of the lyrics more closely. Cool to hear an "updated" version, but these things rarely turn out well.

Don't see what the point of this was. Everything about this version sucks vs the original. Sounds like a muddy mess, crappier vocals, guitars and drums.

This sounds waaaaaaaay better... much more cohesive. Of course when you listen to something so many times you get used to it and don't want it to change... the truth is this is more pleasant than the old version... Just my opinion...

It's their song and they can change it as much as they want. It's not overly different and this is much closer to how it's currently played live. Most of you sound like a bunch of girly crybabies. Also, you can actually hear the fucking bass for once. Arsis is a changing band. Get over it. I can almost guarantee that they practically did one take for this. If you expect the same ole shit all the time then you're listening to the wrong music. Stick to nursery rhymes bitches.
