If I had to guess, it's because it sounds like a lot of this was written by the other guitarist who left the band before Unwelcome was recorded. James is singing during most of the leads so I assume it's the other guy (Nick Cordle I think his name is but forgive me if I'm butchering the spelling.)

I love everything Arsis has ever put out, and I can not wait for the new album to come out, it needs to come out NAO!!!!!! And by the way, for everyone hating on starve for the devil, fuck off, that album was amazing just like all of their other albums, just because it didn't necessarily sounds exactly like all the previous albums doesn't mean it is shit, bands are aloud to change how they sound and really it isn't a huge change from their earlier work.

Are you a drummer/have you ever tried to play any type of blast beat? Honestly like... it's harder to stay go in and out of blasts and maintain the rhythm. No offense dude but you're totally off.

Starve was sorta lacking in the blast beat department. Arsis without hammer blasts clearly bores plenty of their old fans, myself especially.

I don't know what everyone's problem with starve was, it was a good album just with some rock flavor...I get the feeling the people who didn't like it are just specific metal elitist twats...and that's no good.
