@PucksGothicUmbrellaWell, this demo was from before the Funeral (or even Arcade Fire LP) band lineup was established. Most of the members who played on this aren't even a part of the band any more. I'm not even sure if Regine was on-board at this point. There's someone who sings lead on 2(?) of the songs on the demo who founded Arcade Fire with Win but left a year or two later. That's also probably the reason they never play any of these songs live (or some rights issues... idk)I don't think they could do much to recapture this sound at this point. Plus Win says that they like to kind of reimagine the band from the ground up with each album, so I don't think they'd try to do it anyway.

He was younger and had a slightly different singing style, but it's definitely him. I do miss this, I wish all their songs weren't so HUGE, where he practically has to shout the song. I miss the gentleness of their first songs. Listen to Virgin Mary Highway, Winter for a Year and Maps if you're still unsure.
