SomethingNowhereMan! You don't know how much I appreciate your comments. Life has so many magic, wonderful moments, and we often fail to see or feel them when they are screaming and jumping up and down right in front of us. Sometimes, when I am low, I remember this, and wonder if we could withstand the joy if we took every minute particle in every second. Probably not. HA!!! There is a little of that embedded and overt joy in this song, and I have listened to it ten times in two days. I think I am falling for Annette. That little "That's all" gets me every time. I wish you all the total blessings of joy possible, man. And I mean that as well.

YouTube is such a blessing to those of us who love all kinds of music. My mom and dad, at 91 and 94, respectively, have accessed on their iPad (mom) and desktop (dad) so many memories on YouTube, and Annette Henshaw is among their favorite musical memories. We have a good collection of old 78's, but nothing as extensive as can be found on YouTube. We all love this Annette Henshaw song! I think it is amazing that they are still so sharp and adjusting to all of the new technology, but they love to talk of the many changes in culture, as they used kerosene lamps, outdoor toilets, and farming to survive when they were young kids. Dad is a WWII vet, Mom a Rosie the Riveter, and I am the still spoiled rotten baby boomer who became a psychologist, singer, actor, and laughing himself through life cancer survivor. Life is amazing. Oh, I like the Boswell Sisters, and the Ponce Sisters, and so many of the Bix music and the many others. Thanks for posting these wonderful vids.

Dad was 13 and mom 11 when this was sung. Their families were both so conservative I don't think they would have been able to participate in the music and dance scenes of the 20's even if they were old enough.

Imagine, this young lady thought of herself that she wasn't much of a singer! A truly bizarre excess of modesty. Especially if you compare her singing with modern pop stars. The phrasing of this song is really not easy .
