And people stop talking like people from the 30's. Act like yourself not someone from the 30's. Sure, she's looks cute here, but she's either dead, or if your lucky she's 95 years old. And I doubt any of would show the same attention to an old woman. Hmm?

+Alex James It wasn't called jazz in the 30's. It was just music. People didn't care much for genre back then, same with books and movies(well duh). Shortly, it was a better time if you don't count the world wars and the technology back then. Yeah hell of a time.

Oh how I wish I could have known her. She was a Goddess of song, and how 9 tone deaf ppl could give thumbs down is far beyond my understanding. To all of you others who recognise true natural talent, my hat's off to you and I think we belong to the same club.

"Aren't she sweet?" my response to that question: "Yes, she is! She is sweeter than sugar and grapes, she IS sugar and grapes."

What a find! I love early sound recordings and this doesn't disappoint!

She looks SO cool in this photo and this is THE classic take of this song that I've known since another life.

First time I ever heard the verse. Wow. Perfect ease - like an angel is singing.

@DeanBrunel: That's what I've been asking myself, too. It's the hell of a good trumpet voice, I wanna practice this one. Several alternatives by who could have been present at the 1929 sessions: Trombonist Tommy Dorsey on cornet (improbable, he wasn't SUCH a good cornetist), Phil Napoleon (possible), Red Nichols (likely by auditory impression).

You know, Annette was not a fan of her singing, and her recording career ended in I believe 1934. She was so good -- how could she not have known how good she was? As we say in the Catholic Church, It's a mystery.
