Very early Deep Purple from the original "Mark 1" lineup (several years before the more widely known Smoke On The Water era lineup that had Ian Gillen replacing Rod Evans on vocals). This instrumental is heavy on the pyschedelic aspect that permeated much of the output from British bands in the late 1960's. After the atmospheric intro by keyboardist Jon Lord, the song hits its' groove, dominated by the guitar of Ritchie Blackmore, already displaying the unique tone and style that would be heard in all the Purple classics that would follow~
