This Galli-Curci recording is a real gem. Beautiful, flowing legato singing and shaded nuances. Equally impressive, however is Tetrazzini's wonderful performance. I know Galli-Curci's debut role was in Bizet's Don Procopio, but I'm almost certain she never sang Leila. I believe Patti did sing the role, and I would have been curious to hear her handling of the aria.Related Videos
