I'm not saying just men generally beat their spouses. Sadly, woman also get physical and can cause great emotional grief. Yep, it's my story. I am not violent, nor did I EVER raise my voice(that drove her crazy). I could have snapped her neck quite easily (I'm only human), as she came at me with fists flying. I just grabbed her wrists and look into her eyes and turned my head slightly, without a word she realized what position she put herself in. Your eyes turned to that of fear, I let go of her wrists. I would not use the world 'divorce' (Yes, Catholic), but within a few weeks I did get her to say it. BYE-BYE...excellent song Amanda, it hasn't aged a bit. out4now Riv

?have you heard ?what happened to her, she just got into town last night; she looks sad but she's only crying because things for her haven't been bad since she left where she was at; her silent attack

First, I want to say that I love this song, and I love Amanda's voice. However, being from Alabama, I find the video to be rather offensive, because it's full of negative stereotypes about the South. I go to Birmingham every year to take my daughter to Children's Hospital, part of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which is one of the top medical centers in the world. People from all over the planet travel to Birmingham for treatment for all kinds of diseases and injuries.Of course, there are rednecks and poor people in Birmingham, as in every other city. But if you weren't familiar with Birmingham, after seeing this video, you'd think it was nothing but a trashy slum. That's just not true. Birmingham is a thriving, big, beautiful city. And as my former Canadian boyfriend said, "There are rednecks and slums everywhere, including Toronto."

Amanda Marshall - BirminghamI totally appreciate the message of this song! I found that the beat makes light of a serious topic.Which, overall, suits the freedom and joy felt when leaving an abusive relationship!!I should know, because I have and I'm glad I did!(No one deserves to be abused...emotionally, mentally, or physically!!!)Well done, Ms. Marshall!! <3<3<3

I just see this as another great song by Amanda even if it is based on abuse. It has a good beat and I like the part of the lyric, where she sings "Fridaynight he pulled a gun to change the channel, something that he picked up from the King"...does the reference to "King" mean Elvis Presley? I remember that Presley liked guns..but never heard of him shooting out a TV because he wanted to turn it off.

Video is packed with visual cues! Had to pause every few seconds to catch all the symbols of a marriage-turned-abusive.Question: Did Amanda herself portray the abused wife in this video?
