Obviously the lyrics are about a very controlling boyfriend, but I like to think it's more optimistic than that:"How can I lose control,When your driving from the backseat?"Picturing this, We'd know that Molly is in the driver's seat, and whomever the song is for; boyfriend, lover, etc. Is in the backseat, reaching infront for the steering wheel. Which means that his hands, in a way, would be around her shoulders. Sort of like hugging her from behind. I like to think the message is: Molly will never lose control of her life because she has a loving (hugging) partner to guide her and steer her through her hard times. How sweet.Clearly not the message they were going for but I improvised haha.
