Sarah records, a UK indie label of the mid-1990s, would have loved ALVVAYS! Field Mice, 14 Iced Bears, Sea Urchins, The Orchids, St Christopher, Even As We Speak, Blueboy, Another Sunny Day, The Hit Parade, Northern Picture Library, all are Sarah bands who would have made happy stablemates for Alvvays. Love and respect to them for keeping this type of sound alive. Great stuff.

Flawlessly beautiful song in all its substance. The way I see it, this song is not just about being taken for granted but the inevitablility that you will reciprocally take others for granted. That we'll regard others as taking from the ones who love them without returning anything, and then returning the love to the ones who will not love them. Then we'll realise that we are doing exactly the same thing, because once crisis arrives to the ones who love us and we are needed to help them, we keep ourselves away. If you try to cut yourself off because you feel it's only happening to you, you'll only find that absolutely nothing happens at all, which is worse. We're resigned to living in a world of pass the parcel- love is passed on to us from those who really love us, but we're blind to acknowledging who they are, so we in turn ignore them and pass it on to someone who is just as blind as we were when we  received that love in the first place. Love is giving and not receiving. Don't focus on the ones who love you (unless you're going to write the best song in the world about it), just know that in its flawed way at least love keeps getting passed around.
