@kattte7 OH NO! What are you the security guard for dead Kurt Cobain? If anything, Kurt Cobain would want his music spread and his story exploited to the world through music. Kurt had a lot of friends in other bands that covered his music when he was gone, and they never thought twice about it. This music is beautiful and suppressing it would be tragic, not covering it.

agreed! even though you made this comment a year ago, i think it's stupid whenever there's a die hard fan of a band that's trying to defend there "artistic" abilities. every band has a definite quality about them that no other band can duplicate but people such as ben gibbard do a phenomenal job at reproducing greatness!

I won't retaliate as harshly as I could and probably should to that. However you are forgetting one fundamental thing about music (i.e. it is highly down to opinion which bands are better than others.) I like a wide variety of bands for different reasons and as I listen to Nirvana, your last point is not a valid one. If you can't be arsed to make a fully coherent argument, keep your mouth shut and your fingers away from the keyboard.

youre an idiot. ITS SO INCREDIBLE, because its kurt cobains and no ben gibberishs' song. dont cheapen kurt and nirvana because youre a defensive elitest or wannabe. its a good cover, bc it is a good song. plain and simple, nirvana > any band that you probably listen to.

Ben Gibbard's translation of this song is incredible. I know that all of the uptight Nirvana aficiondos are going to laugh at it but let's get a few things straight, yes Nirvana were very good but they weren't as amazing as everyone makes out, Cobain did write some absolute dirge in his time, secondly, we could argue over who has better lyrics 'till judgement day but it wouldn't be resolved. Thirdly any musician in their own right is irreplaceable! That's not to say I like every band out there

Tori Amos' cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit has to be the best Nirvana cover. Even though she's dire as fuck. Good ol' Ben Gibbard.
