Aerosmith "Walk This Way" guitar lesson. Today we're using the Xotic Effects BB Preamp MB to recreate the aggressive midrange heard from Joe Perry's 70's sound. With a humbucker equipped guitar and the BB Pre MB, you can give the intro riff the weight it needs but also allows the subtle palm muting in the verse to stay tight and shine through. After the main riff, the slide from A to C is tricky since what we normally hear from Aerosmith's recording is an overdub. It's best to slide the A chord up and switch to a power chord on the 8th fret. There is also an overdub during the chorus which we try and incorporate with a bit of a stretch! Most importantly, the key to Walk This Way is locking into the groove and not speeding up during the rests in between notes. Enjoy your riff of the day guitar lesson!
