AC/DC "Hell's Bells" guitar lesson. Today we're using the Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret MKIII in its lower gain range to recreate a vintage Plexi sound. The DLS shares the same behavior as a tube amp, allowing chords to ring out and clean up naturally, while harder picking yields dynamic, tube-like overdrive. In Hell's Bells, the intro really lets the A string drone while the D&G strings play an epic melody. As with all AC/DC songs, there are two guitar parts and we show how Angus Young plays the verse riff an octave higher, right before the vocals come in. The rest of the song is pretty straight forward, showing the ringing quality and dominance that chords can have at the second fret versus higher positions on the neck. Enjoy your riff of the day guitar lesson!

It'd be cool to do an Allman Brothers tune with the Boss Harmonist. Maybe Blue Sky or something.

Great job! Since you have the Red SG out, could you play Roadhouse Blues? I'm sure you could do a killer interpretation of that classic.

This is a great lesson though when showing the final product it would be nice to show how angus young uses very exaggerated vibrato on both his riffs as well as single notes

I suspect any overdrive will do. I use a Boss Blues Driver and it sounds just great! You can try your distortion pedal, and clean up the tone by lowering the guitar volume as well. Sounds cool as well.

I'm happy to see that Andy finally uses an SG :) I think it's a Standard 2013, which is basically the same as the 1961 re-issue (small pickguard, '57 classic pickups, easy access to the upper frets)
