"Aaliyah" is a classic RnB album... I completely understand why she left songs like this off the album and kept the concept edgy. She wanted to step into another genre and get out of that RnB Pigeonhole a lot of people placed her in with her third album, and that's exactly what she did. Aaliyah was a true music connoisseur

Virgin records doesn't control or own Aaliyah's estate... Blackground was her label. Her uncle owns all of her masters both released and unreleased and he hasn't released any of it thus far because Aaliyah's immediate family don't support it. Virgin was simply the distributor for Blackground records at the time when "Aaliyah" was released. Virgin got sued because it was their video production company that booked the ill-fated flight that Aaliyah would eventually die on.

Sad, a lot of great songs didn't make it. I like the red album and get the theme, but with all the unreleased songs I heard so far, she was bout to make a classic RnB album. It's hurts cause now we all have to live in a "what could've" world.

VVirgin Records make me sick...to this day they still have most of Aaliyah's unreleased material and I'm pretty sure they are just going to let em rot bc they are still mad about the whole lawsuit thing (had to pay to send all the vicitims families out to claim bodies, had to send for the bodies to be picked up and brought back, had to pay for each victim funeral, had to pay for 8 wrongful death lawsuites minus the piolet) smh they know they can release another album...dumb bitches..wmy Aaliyah!
