Rousing fun from the great tunesmith, which he re-recorded for Capitol in 1944 with Paul Weston & the Pied Pipers.

Transferred from reissue 78rpm: Harmony 1010, originally released on Brunswick 7988 - Jamboree Jones (Mercer) by Johnny Mercer & his Orchestra, with Six Hits and a Miss, recorded in Los Angeles October 14, 1937

This is a 1949 reissue disc, when Eli Oberstein's "Wright Record Corp." briefly reactivated the "Harmony" label for Columbia....the venture ended in several lawsuits, and "Harmony" was again dormant until Columbia resurrected it as a "bargain LP" label in 1956.

Good stuff! Scarce release, I bet. I don't recall coming across many of these very late Harmonys.Dean Mora used to do this live at the Derby in Hollywood. Fun.
