A lot of bands have come and gone in my many years. I have my favorites: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, etc. The one group I name as one of my top ten all-time Is 1910. I mention them along with Shadows of Knight, The Lemon Pipers, Kasenetz-Katz, The Super Cirkus, & Ohio Express. Some groups were studio ensembles with a rotating cast of band members (some shared). This was Bubblegum, an underappreciated music genre that holds a big place in my heart.

I was introduced to 191o FG with this song, way back in 1969 when I was 14 and I loved it! Never understood why it never made it to the top 20 at least. In my book, is way better than Simon Says.

Our 2 final songs were When We Get Married and The Train. Both should have been smash hits but because of problems with the record label, they were never promoted properly.

On this day in 1970 {January 17th} the 1910 Fruitgum Co. performed "The Train" on the late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand'... Five months days earlier on August 23rd, 1969 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #57 and spent 10 weeks on the Top 100... Was the last of their seven Top 100 records; with three making the Top 10 {"Simon Says" at #4 in 1968, "1,2,3 Red Light" at #5 in 1968, and "Indian Giver" at #5 in 1969}.... R.I.P. Mr. Clark {1929 - 2012}

Photos are a little too random. Could be easily improved to form some kind of logical sequence.

Yeah, the opener does sound like House Of The Rising Son. I don't remember this one but it's a good one. What I remember was their stuff like Indian Giver (have the 45 of that one), Simon Says etc. I'm loving this song. Love to find neat 60's & 70's stuff on Youtube.

No idea, but the intro sounds just like the Animals house of the rising sun. Cool song though.
