Lyrics:

St. Peter's cathedral

Built of granite

Ever fearful of the answer

When the candle in the tunnel

Is flickering and sputters

And fading faster

It's only then that you will know

What lies above or down below

Or if these fictions only prove

How much you've really got to lose

At St. Peter's cathedral

There is stained glass

There's a steeple that is reaching

Up towards the heavens

Such ambition never failing to amaze me

It's either quite a master plan

Or just chemicals that help us understand

That when our hearts stop ticking

This is the end

And there's nothing past this

There's nothing past this

There's nothing past this

There's nothing past this

There's nothing past this

There's nothing past this

There's nothing past this

There's nothing past this

It has everything to do with it, we are discussing linguistics. I disagree about intelligence. You believe in...let's use the term transpecies, the way you use the term evolve is misleading. Again, Biblically, we are different from animals, we are human and intelligent, always have been. We have known God from the beginning, and that is reflected in language, as I explained. I understand what you are saying from a atheistic point of view, but that view is wrong.

That is exactly what I explained, That is not how language works. Theism is not derived from atheism, theism is the root. You can't be untied without first being tied, prefixes and suffixes are added to roots of words, you don't have suffixes and prefixes and then you add a root to those. It really can't be any clearer. I think many of you are disagreeing because it would mean you are wrong, and what you believe is wrong, and the world hates being wrong. The world hates God. It's really simple.

How do you know this?? Obviously my beliefs come from the Bible, and as many know in the beginning God spoke, so in the beginning there was language. I don't want to fuel anything either, somehow it always turns into name calling, I actually find it quite funny, people being controlled by their emotions, rather than controlling their emotions. Anyway, so how do you know when language came into existence and how do you know it came after any beliefs about God??

You do know that there are other languages, right? And I'm sure in one of the millions of languages, the word for "theism" derived from the word for "atheism". Your premise is based on a logical fallacy. Sorry, dude.

I understand that. I'm just not sure whether or not he's claiming agnostic theism or atheism, he's spoken about it before, i think he believes in an afterlife, but isn't sure about the idea of god. so maybe he's an atheist, maybe not, but he's searching for answers, so the conclusion comes later on.

One can be an agnostic and an atheist (or an agnostic and a theist). They measure different things: knowledge and belief.

Gibbard is a confirmed strong agnostic, relapsed Catholic. The uncertainty of there being a God is present.

Words are not confusing. I sometimes find understanding what someone means from what they wrote to be confusing....Not everyone writes what they mean or means what they write...Wanting to understand what someone means is polite, and part of communicating. I rather not assume. Why make a remark like that? Are you trying to provoke something? I disagree, it is history. Have you read the Bible?
