When I was twelve this seemed like a very important track. I loved both albums except for the awful Turning Japanese, their first and only hit. The second album, which this is off, was dark and interesting, considering they were were new wave in '82. No one bought it but me and their parents.

dude! actually all their other stuff are pretty damn good and even more better and maybe catchier than turning japanese. the only reason why they were underated and not that big was there was some issues with their manager and production company which prolonged them from advertising much for their other singles and even their albums.

And everyone else thought they were a one hit wonder. Its the Clash & Peter Gabriel in a bite-size packet. My whole sense of musicality and dancing are rooted here. ;) Thirty years later, I have purple hair and ride a scooter. The Vapors loved their beat. And I do too... ;)

Took me forever to find Magnets here in the US, thats is when I finally learned it had actually come out. Great when I finally got it, sad to find it was their last. Thanks for the post!
