In Australia, in the late 60's. if excercising in front of the telly was your idea of fun, then you probably had a weekly date with ABC TV and the programme "Swing In Time" with Sue Becker.
Every week, Sue led your through various acts of torture in the hope that she would make Australia a fitter nation.
After Sue gave up on that cause, she became a talkback radio host with ABC Tasmania, before returning to the UK, where she put seniors through weekly punishment with her fitness programme on BBC TV.
Sue died from cancer in 2007, aged 79.
This is the theme from her Aussie TV show, released in 1968 on a Spin 45, EK-2279.
The flipside was "Theme From P.J.", which I have also uploaded to YouTube.
I know nothing about the group "The Swingin' Times", but, as you can see, their name is a play on words, taken from the title of Sue's TV show.
I suspect that it was a group of Aussie jazz musos who got together for this recording.
This upload is from the original 45.
