I've always liked this group. Jimmy Sacca had great voice.

Today in 2014... lead singer, Emil Stucchio of The Classics does a fine job on this number. Catch him in the NYC metro area in Summer of 2015...

I thought this was not a 78. I have that original by Hill Toppers on my 33 1/3 record album. They must have recorded it to the 33 1/3 from the original 78. I have that record in my collection. Yes one of my favorite groups of all time. Billy Vaughn composed 3 of the songs on my album; including "Trying", "I'd Rather Die young" & "To Be Alone'. I have about 500 33 1/3 record albums. I would like to put a few on You Tube, if someone would show me how to do that! J. Patriarco

This is what I thought was the original version until I found versions from 1934

Finally, the original version here on YT ! This was one of my Dad's all-time favorites, & he sang it, all the time. From the Fall of '53, I had just turned 7 y/o. Wolfsky9

You can see a video of them singing "Trying" on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1952 - what a great early Doo Wop record!

Jimmy Sacca---the 'everyman' singer. Not the greatest voice in the world; but, wonderful in his own way. Love this song!

Jimmy Sacca was on the same ship as I in 53 or 54. He sang for us un the way to Okinawa.

I recall them singing this song on Kate Smith's television show C September 1953. That performance may exist somewhere on the internet. They made other appearances, but the Kinescopes may no longer exist.

Jimmy Sacca was amazing and could have had an amazing singing career on his own. Like somebody else mentioned here, I'm dying to see this powerful group on video. I can only imagine them singing these beautiful tunes which I listen to all the time.

I'm NOT complaining. I just wanted to find a VIDEO of the Hilltoppers performing. If I already had had a video, I wouldn't have been asking others.

Well first, this was made shortly after I purchased a new computer that I had not yet set up for video capability at that time. Secondly, I am not even aware of any video footage that might exist of this performance. Third, you know you're always welcome to do a better job of your own video instead of complaining about somebody else's.

No video here--just a still of the record!! I was hoping to see them PERFORM on a video. Did you send the wrong link? Looked at a lot of their youtubes; not one was a video.

Yes; there are Hilltoppers videos on Youtube that show the group in several venues.

Anything's possible. SOMEBODY out there must have something. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those people. Not to take away anything from any of the other guys in the group, but I personally got into the Hilltoppers because I've always been a Billy Vaughn fan.

Is there any video of the Hilltoppers or Jimmy Sacca singing? Steve Allen show? Perry Como show? Ed Sullivan?
