I'm confused how I feel about their appearance, and it has nothing to do with gender. I've grown up with the likes of 7 year Bitch, but with that said this just looks like complete fashion. I've tried putting studds around a Godflesh patch once, and after one row I gave up. But I guess if you are on the street with nothing to do...I understand butt flaps, and shit decorate it a little sure, but this seems no different than a high maintenance goth person, something else I was never into although being a huge Skinny Puppy fan.Don't know, I also enjoyed Exploited and Total Chaos as a kid, and Black Metal covered with spikes and paint, so maybe I'm fooling myself. But it still looks like its just all about the fashion!

What ever happened to these chicks? I use to listen to them religiously in high school, even when they changed to the 99s. Then they just kinda disappeared.

"I remember when there was pop ,rock, punk, metal and rap..." No you don't, the concept of genres and sub-genres has existed since, like, forever. Dunno why you're getting pissed off about this, it's true that people can get too obsessed about labelling bands with a particular 'genre' but at the end of the day it's just a way of describing music.

the other thing i'm saying is it seems like there is more of this since then because the internet perpetuates these sub-genre's. as you said it's a description so it thrives from google etc..it's not bad if ppl use it to be diverse in musical taste but i don't see that happening. i see ppl flocking to or avoiding genre's because of the scene. idk maybe i'm bias. i have always been a jeans and t-shirt guy, and hung w/ punks, metalheads, wiggers(not being racist) but i never wore a "uniform".

that is one thing i am saying about being trapped in a genre. as for me i do think it is bad from a psychological and social standpoint. i said this before, but i grew up in the late 80's graduated in '93. i was hung out with everyone. i was a skateboarder but i also wrestled etc... it always bothered me that my skater freinds felt they had to dress acertain way. i never bought into that. in an attempt to be non-conformist they conform to their own scene. ppl need own identity not a scene

i think what you're saying is people focus more on a scene than the music itself. which i'm not totally against, but that kind of thing is fleeting and leads to formulaic artists regurgitating cliches.

your missing my point. ppl today are using these labels in epic proportion. it's not wether they existed it's that everyone has latched on to using these labels since the 90's largely due to the internet. ppl not totally into music use all these genre labels these days where that was not the case before. i am not going to debate this because i went through it 8 months ago with someone else. dig down below in the comments far enough & you'll see why i think it's bad. labels trap ppl in genre's
