Ok... This particular epic is taken from their 1966 'Freedom Sons' album which was recorded Live in The Point, Dublin, as part of the country's 50th anniversary commemorations for the 1916 Easter Rising.

A Jackeen was a pejorative term for a Dubliner who sided with the British. It comes from Union Jack, the British flag. Many forget in the election of 1922, Dublin went almost solidly Orange or Unionist. 10 years назад

I think that Sidcup12 is speaking about Dubliners during Easter Week in 1916 during the Rebellion. In fact it is true that many did not pay heed to the events. It is a well known fact that only while the leaders of the Rebellion were being executed did general public opinion sway toward Republicanism and independence. If we are to believe your comment (and there is more chance of HMQ pardoning the 10 Hunger Strikers) then why TF has Arbour Hill and Kilmainham Gaol been turned into a nation tourist destination and every year the Rising is commemorated by a march past, down Sackville Street,and various tv shows dedicated to that week?
