The original recording is a favorite of mine. This particular piece though requires a certain "swagger" from the musicians to truly pull off. I'm not sure this group quite makes it. Nice effort though!

senza esagerazione, FZ è proprio stato indubbiamente un "Mozart", un "Beethoven" dei nostri tempi insomma, la sua musica si studia e la suonano (o tentano di eseguirla) gli studenti dei conservatori di tutto il mondo. Qui su youtube se ne può trovare anche qualche esempio. Comunque è anche vero [almeno x me] che la sua vastissima e poliedrica produzione non è qualitativamente tutta grandiosa al "100%". Diciamo che forse un 70-80% (ma non saprei neanche tanto quantificare però) è good o very good, il resto lascerebbe un pò a desiderare. No, perchè, ti garantisco che io ad es. ho una caterba di cd di FZ, ma ti garantisco che alcuni li lascio lì ad impolverare, mentre altrì li gettono un pò di più. Ora non starei ad elencare, ma comunque "Sleep Dirt" del '79 (da cui è estratto proprio questo pezzo... alla batteria, poi, da rilevare un certo Chester Thompson) è davvero un bell'album 2° me. Mi piacciono anche (in questo LP) le belle performance vocali di Thana Harris (chissà che fine avrà fatto? sarà la Clare Torry (quella vocalist leggendaria di The Great Gig in The Sky" di Richard Wright dei Pink Floyd) di FZ?), ma pure ho trovato bellissimo "Sleep Dirt" il duetto di chitarre acustiche con FZ solista e il bassista James "Bird Legs" Youman alla chitarrà d'accompagnamento. Comunque grazie per aver postato questa performance di Regyptian Strut, una composizione zappiana che adoro... poi, certo, ognuno ha i suoi gusti.

I myself could listen to Franks multitudes of music for the rest of my life and life would be content. The topics and style of wording he didn't miss angles of. He never gave an audience a dull moment and was the ultimate entertainer especially at the Halloween shows in NYC when he'd do two shows back to back usually the whole week. Never stop hearing him a true genius! Thanks for placing all of this! RIP..FVZ

@FredSpang maybe this is the cover of the original version, where Zappa himself played the drums, and he was no Bozzio ya know?

@adamcook6 when you play such intrincate music like this, not even the zaniest of rock musicians would be able to fool around the stage, as it can be seen by Zappa's own band live, they could joke around and have lots of fun, but when it comes to dead serious music playing, they behave like pros.
