Up until now the La De Da's version of this song is the only one I've ever known about - its great and powerful and a peon railing against the unobtainable that is in all women and while I like ex-Bangles Susanna Hoffs as a solo performer, this rendition of, How Is The Air Up There, is really just a novelty for my listening ears to enjoy. Thanks heeps for posting.

Sorry, but the La De Da's did it better. And the La De Da's were from my country of Kiwi Land, so i heard their's first.

@txcowpatty I wish more people knew of them during this phase. I was obsessed with this ep when it came out. When their first major label release came out and I saw what the label did to them, i was devastated. Still, they did go on to produce some good pop, until Walk Like an Egyptian put the final nail in their coffin. For me at least.

I know the Changin' Times made the original, and their version is OK, but I always preferred the fuzzed-out treatment that the La De Das gave it. Obviously the Bangles did too, as this version closely matches the La De Das' cover. They did a great job of it, in my opinion, and it was even hotter in concert, back in '82.
