I never liked this song until I heard this version, which is incidentally the original. There's just so much more rhythm and soul in this version than I've heard in any other. These guys owe a lot to the bands that have covered them, but not nearly as much as they themselves are owed. If the internet is good for anything, it's for being able to find gems like these, and being able to appreciate a piece of history and art.11 years назад

I had no idea. I'm actually ashamed of myself for never having heard the "Soul Brothers Six" and even more ashamed that I didn't know this was their original song! I'll be listening to everything I can find by them now. I've been a DJ since 1978 (mostly clubs) and I am smacking myself right now!!!! I will NEVER play the Grand Funk version again!
