they sing the most perfect harmony I've heard. This song was sung by Edson Jessops girls when I was 8 years old at a community dinner. Always special to my memory.

My first thought was that the ribbons were from the sunrise streaming their colours across her bed. However, the last line about not knowing from where they came, does make it feel a little creepy.

I am 62 years old. My 3rd grade teacher introduced " Scarlet Ribbons " to our class.Mrs English, Clayton, Ok.I awoke this morning with " Scarlet Ribbons "on my mind. I will always remember how this song touched my heart as a child. I love it and pulled it up on YouTube this morning as I listened once again.Thank you Mrs. English for introducing this song to me. I used to sing this song to my daughter, I would always change the line to, "when I heard Kristin in prayer". She heard the song on an oldies station when she was 30 and was surprised. She thought all those years I had made it up about her. :) What a beautiful song. Love it and the Browns. Thanks for the memories.
