I do believe Jimi would have loved this!!!If not for COINTELLPRO -- Who Knows where he would be today.I can guarantee you he would NOT be playing all the moldy oldies but baddies for the aged hippies JUST like he played them 50 years ago.He might have gotten hooked up with Miles -- that was supposed to happen.He was all set to do something with Gil Evans and his Orchestra.He could have gotten lost in classical music -- he lived in Handl's London Flat. He saw his ghost several times in an old mirror, apparently.Jimi was all about creating NEW music and moving us all forward, somehow, some way.Bravo for Robert and the lads!Blessings

I love Plant but this is a disaster. Where you going with that money in your hand? Maybe he's going to get a hooker to get even with his cheatin' old lady. Sometimes you can get away with radically changing a song, especially when it's a great song that wasn't done very well in the original like Hendrix did with the original "hey joe" or "all along the watchtower.". But when you have a definitive version like Hendrix' "Hey Joe" you just leave the bugger alone and do it like he did as a nod to the man. You just don't throw in the mandolin's ancient ancestor plunking along, make it unrecognisable and add verses about a guy going to the pawn shop downtown to pick up blue steel guns.

이 앨범이 처음 나왔을때만 해도 반 이상이 커버송인데다 나머지 곡들도 비슷한 분위기의 포크록들로 채워져 있어서 독특한 리메이크이긴 하지만 분위기가 너무 가라앉아 있어서 첫인상은 좀 김빠진 느낌이었는데, 요즈음 유심히 들어보니 인상이 완전히 다르다. 당시엔 신경도 안 쓰고 있어서 몰랐는데, 큐어의 기타리스트 Porl Thompson의 존재가 로버트 플랜트 솔로 커리어에서 가장 초개성적인 결과물을 만들어냈다. 포크록과 블루스를 기반으로 사이키델릭한 감성이 더해지고 오버프로듀스되지 않은 심플한 세팅. 익히 잘 알고 있는 곡들인 One More Cup of Coffee 와 Hey Joe의 변칙적인 편곡과 연주에서 나오는 매력.
