로버트 플랜트의 솔로작들을 연대순으로 거슬러 올라가면서 감상하다 보니 이 첫번째 솔로앨범 Pictures at Eleven에 대한 기억은 상당히 희미한 편이었는데, 걸작은 아니지만 제법 괜찮은 쿼리티의 노래들로 채워져 있다. 뉴웨이브랑 어정쩡하게 섞인 팦적인 록으로 갔다가, 포크락과 루츠락의 사이에서 방황하다가 지금의 플랜트 스타일로 굳어졌지만, 그의 솔로 커리어에서 가장 기타 오리엔티드 락이자 제플린의 그림자가 짙다. ZEP이 해산한지 2년만, 마지막 앨범 CODA와 같은 해에 발매되었으니 그럴수 밖에 없다고 해야 하나. Burning Down One Side, Worse Than Detroit, Mystery Title같은 곡들은 ZEP의 Coda나 Presence, In Through the Out Door 앨범 어딘가 슬쩍 끼워넣어도 별 이물감이 없을 정도로 분위기가 비슷하고, KASHMIR의 또다른 변주같이 들리는 Slow Dancer를 듣고 있으면 제플린 시절의 향수를 강하게 불러 일으킨다. 대부분의 곡들을 Phil Collins가 드럼을 쳤지만 Slow Dancer와 Like I've Never Been Gone 두곡은 Cozy Powell이 참여하면서 슬로우템포의 두 곡에 묵직함과 장엄한 무드를 만들어낸다.
